The makers web site should have a utility that boots from a floppy and installs the A7n8xx driver and then is capable of running the Disk Testing Utility.

You may need to fit a Floppy drive temporally or maybe even you may need to create a Boot CD to do this but you have to test the Drive first. Thanks for the advice.
